WNY PRISM welcomes new Project Manager

Lucy Nuessle, Projects Manager

Lucy Nuessle, Project Manager

Please join us as we welcome Lucy Nuessle, a western New York native, as our new, full-time Project Manager. It’s a homecoming for Lucy, as she spent her summer a couple years ago (2015) as one of WNY PRISM’s Invasive Species Management Assistants. Her duties as Project Manager will include supervising the seasonal crew, assisting with planning and implementation of future projects, and helping the WNY PRISM Coordinator with some of the day to day running of WNY PRISM. With Lucy on board, we hope to also extend some of our invasive species management field efforts into the off season (September through April).

After graduating from University at Buffalo in 2012 with Double Bachelor’s Degrees in Environmental Studies and Chemistry, Lucy spent time in the environmental field working for the Clean Air Coalition of WNY, Reinstein Woods and most recently the DEC as part of the Giant Hogweed Control Program. She has also spent some time in the agricultural field; working for an organic farm in East Aurora and a nursery in Eden, NY. Through all of her work history, the time she spent as a steward working for WNY PRISM stuck out as one of the most important and the most interesting. She looks forward to becoming a more permanent part of the WNY PRISM organization and spreading the word about invasive species far and wide. She is also a big fan of wearing our infamous Emerald Ash Borer costume – keep a look out for her at any of our future education and outreach events. Welcome back to the team Lucy!
