Town of Tonawanda Rails-to-Trails: Invasive Plant Clean-up

WNY PRISM is excited to announce a new project in conjunction with the Town of Tonawanda. This project will use the power of volunteers to map and manage invasive species along the Rails-to-Trails pathway.

This pathway is a valuable community resource that makes outdoor recreation readily available to community members, but invasive species along the trail threaten to degrade it.

The Tentative Volunteer Schedule:

February: Classroom Training
Thursday, February 13 2020; 7:00-8:30 pm
Thomas Jefferson Elementary School Auditorium
Oakvale Parking Lot, Enter through Door 3

TBD: Field Training
Review identification and mapping, and receive your survey assignments

TBD: Volunteer Workday
Put your skills to use and manually remove these stubborn invaders.
