WNY PRISM would like to welcome Catherine ‘Cat’ Eaton as our new Terrestrial Invasive Species Program Manager! Cat joined us in March 2025 as our Field Crew Leader and we couldn’t be more excited to have her continue with us in this new role!
Cat will be responsible for the coordination and further development of WNY PRISM’s terrestrial and early detection species management efforts. Their primary responsibilities will include coordinating field operations such as invasive species surveys, site assessments, removal and habitat restoration, coordinating regional collaborative efforts, and communicating WNY PRISM information through meetings, workshops and additional outreach activities.
Prior to joining WNY PRISM, Cat worked for the National Park Service as a seasonal biological science technician in places like Zion National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park and Grand Teton National Park, where they specialized in greenhouse management, native plant restoration and invasive plant removal. She also spent time in southern Utah working for American Conservation Experience (ACE) performing a variety of tasks including invasive species removal, forest thinning, and trail-building. Cat graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.
You can get in touch with Cat via email at eatonc@buffalostate.edu. Welcome to the WNY PRISM team, Cat!
