Invasive Species Workshop at Ball Creek Nature Park

June 10 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Join Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy staff at their Ball Creek Nature Park preserve, for an invasive species workshop. The workshop is open to the public and will focus on the identification and removal of several invasive plant species found in Western New York – knotweed (Reynoutria spp.), privet (Lingustrum spp.), bush honeysuckle (Lonicera spp.), and multi-flora rose (Rosa multiflora). Staff will show how to properly identify these species, and how best to remove them.

Note: For safety purposes at this workshop, participants will not be using real herbicides. Staff will instead be using water to show the herbicide application process and technique. Attendees should dress for the weather, wear mud boots, and bring a pair of work gloves.

RSVP’s are appreciated. Please RSVP or send any questions to: tracy@chautauquawatershed.org; 716-664-2166 Ext. 1010.
