WNY PRISM is expanding its Watercraft Inspection Boat Steward Program! We are currently accepting applications for Boat Stewards/Environmental Educators (20) and Lead Stewards (1-2). Job sites will be located throughout the WNY PRISM region, please see the job posting for additional details.

Boat Stewards/Environmental Educators will interact with the public at boat launches and submit valuable data regarding the interactions. Stewards will perform voluntary boat inspections to remove visible aquatic species from watercraft. Stewards will also be responsible for public education and distribution of educational materials. Boat stewards will have the opportunity to assist with invasive species removal projects including early detection/rapid response efforts and control projects to reduce established populations. Stewards will generally cover a single launch, however occasional travel to other launches may be necessary.

Lead Boat Stewards will assist the Program Manager with training, scheduling, and Boat Steward supervision and will also assume the responsibilities of a Boat Steward/Environmental Educator.
